European Climate Change Adaptation Conference (ECCA) 2015 in Copenhagen

The Climate Service Center will attend the ECCA 2015 Conference in Copenhagen. Two session will be chaired by Climate Service Center director Dr. Daniela Jacob.

Session 50: Climate Services and Communication - A framework for regional modeling- supporting adaptation to climate change

At this workshop, possible settings of modelling frameworks, which help steering the development of regional systems, will be identified by multidisciplinary teams of practitioners, scientists and stakeholders. The available knowledge should be used and gaps in the model chains should be identified. First experience, as well as some open questions, gathered from the Roundtable discussion on the occasion of the conference ”Deltas in times of climate change” will be integrated.

Session 63: Dealing with Risks - Quantifying impacts of +2°C global warming for Europe

The initial findings of the IMPACT2C project will be discussed around the key questions that are relevant in the context of 2°C goal for Europe:
- What does +2°C global warming mean for Europe?
- How do the new Representative Concentrations Pathways (RCPs) of AR5 IPCC change our understanding of +2°C impacts?
- What is the speed and possible limits of adaptation ?
