Dr. Christine Nam is a Senior Climate Scientist at GERICS with over 13 years of experience in numerical modelling, remote sensing, statistical analysis, data visualization, publishing articles, presenting research, project management, and interdisciplinary communication.
Her work focuses on the strategic development of digital workflows for data-focused web-based platforms. These platforms address common barriers, such as data volume, unfamiliar software & data formats, technical infrastructure, and technical background knowledge, that hinder the actionable climate knowledge. The workflows incorporate the concepts of: Modularity, Visual Communication, Scientifically sound practices, and User requirements.
By fostering collaboration among Earth System scientists and Data scientists to co- develop modular digital workflows harnessing technological advances, Users can determine climate change over any region of interest from an ensemble of climate model projections associated with different Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs).
