Dr. Katharina Bülow is a scientific staff member of the Climate System department at the Climate Service Center Germany. She works in the BMBF founded project ReKliEs-De. Within ReKliEs-De they perform, together with German Partners, a multitude of high resolution (12 Km) climate simulations with both dynamical and statistical downscaling methods. The overall goal of ReKliEs-De is to derive robust climate change information on high spatial resolution for Germany. ReKliEs-De will provide consistent and user-tailored information for the federal agencies and climate impact and adaptation research.

Katharina Bülow studied Oceanography in Hamburg. She gained experience in oil spill modeling at the University of Rhode Island and in nutrient modeling of the river Elbe at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht. During the last years she was working in regional climate modeling within the projects GLOWA-Elbe, KLIWA and KLIWAS, first at the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, where she also received her PhD and later at the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency.
